Luis Palau Festival Bringing Family-Friendly Celebration To National Mall
Festival Coming Next Weekend
Luis Palau Festivals, the free, family-friendly celebrations which have drawn over 4.5 million people since 1999 from south Florida to South America, are bringing the DC Festival with Luis Palau to the National Mall on Saturday and Sunday, October 8th and 9th. Activities are scheduled each day from noon to 9 PM, and admission is free.

Palau festival events have changed the face of contemporary faith celebrations with a format of "great music and Good News" (www.palau.org). Highlights include major Christian music recording artists, action sports, family play areas, and food courts. Recent festivals have attracted tens of thousands, including 200,000 in Minneapolis; 850,000 in Buenos Aires, Argentina; and 300,000 in Fort Lauderdale.

Produced in partnership with area churches, the DC Festival will showcase some of the top artists in contemporary Christian music, including Steven Curtis Chapman, CeCe Winans, Third Day, Jaci Velasquez, tobyMac, Jump5, Kirk Franklin, Tye Tribbett & GA, Yuri and Kutless. The Livin It action sports tour will also make a stop on The Mall, featuring actor/filmmaker Stephen Baldwin and pro athletes from the "action sports" of skateboarding and BMX biking. Video superstars Bob & Larry from the VeggieTales video series will host a massive children's play area, and top professional and amateur athletes will greet fans in the Sports Zone.

The Oregon-based Luis Palau Evangelistic Association has brought the Gospel message to over 20 million people face-to-face in 70 countries. Luis Palau's daily radio broadcasts are heard by tens of millions of listeners on 2100+ radio stations in 48 countries. He is the author of over 45 books, and his counsel on issues of faith has been shared with political leaders and heads of state around the world.
