A Concert to Restore Hope
WHAT: The Gospel Music Channel, in partnership with the Gospel Music Association's Project Restore, will stage Gospel Angels, a concert to restore hope to people hurting in the wake of hurricane Katrina.

An unprecedented, 'live,' nationally televised event, Gospel Angels will bring together some of the Christian music industry's brightest stars for one concert, on one night, with one purpose: provide hope and help to those whose lives were torn apart by Hurricane Katrina. A $10 donation at the gate is required (children under 12 admitted free). Free passes will be given prior to the concert to evacuees through churches or radio stations.


WHY: Gospel music has always been about faith, love, hope, and inspiration. Today, evacuees from the gulf coast regions of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama are in desperate need of those three things, as well as basic living necessities like food, clothing, and housing. Gospel Angels will help meet those needs.

WHEN:  Thursday, Sept. 22, 7:00pm - 9:00pm LIVE CONCERT (EDT); televised 8-10 pm, Gates open at 5:30pm

WHERE: Live Event: Atlanta's Centennial Olympic Park
National Simulcast: the Gospel Music Channel, i (formerly PAX TV), the Worship Network, and XM Radio (Spirit channel 33) from 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

WHO: 100% of the proceeds raised through on-site and phone donations during the Gospel Angels event will go to the hurricane relief efforts of World Vision and Feed the Children.
