Looking for an ambitious, talented journalist to take complete responsibility for the content on our fast-growing Web site. The editor will update the site on a daily basis, finding and posting relevant articles from a variety of papers, and editing postings by other papers to conform to style; seeking and sizing photos to appear on the home page and in the highlighted position in each of eight sections; choosing lead articles, and 'hot topics`; creating promotions of special content; offering technical support and advice to submitters; responding to queries from the site's readers; encouraging use of teasers on members' Web sites; working with Web developers to improve site functions; and performing other duties to continue to boost the site's readership and visibility.

Requires the ability to quickly read, analyze and accurately summarize news and culture stories; excellent writing and editing skills; understanding and appreciation of alternative journalism; and a deeply-ingrained sense of fairness, diplomacy and good judgment.
